Board-funded scholarships total $600,000; reception set for June 2

The Scholarship Oversight Committee reported that scholarship awards funded through the Washington CPA Foundation total $600,000 for the current cycle.
Kimberly Scott, President and CEO of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants, told the Board that 35 undergraduate scholarships of $5,000 each were awarded (10 of those to individuals from underrepresented groups) and 30 master’s scholarships of $10,000 each were awarded. Scholarship recipients are being notified and a reception for scholars and stakeholders has been scheduled for June 2, 2026, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. The written scholarship report will be available at the next Board meeting.
Board members and staff were invited to attend the reception. The Board noted this program is unique among states, per the report provided to members.
