The Roosevelt City Council voted unanimously Feb. 17 to partner with a citizen committee seeking to place a veterans memorial near the cemetery/rest-stop area. Dan Karren and local veteran Garry Rohrer presented the proposal and asked the city to help the committee secure a piece of military equipment around which the memorial would be built.
Minutes list committee members (Clate Miller, Ben Allred, JR Bird, Garry Rohrer, Dan Karren, Don Busenbark) and note a partnership with Ryan Clayburn of Special Projects; the presentation referenced a previously approved site and provided a GPS location: "40.28951-109.99798." Councilman D. Busenbark moved to approve the city partnership and Councilwoman A. Goodrich seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
