Representative Briggs presented House Joint Resolution 0739, asking the committee to recognize International Holocaust Remembrance Day on Jan. 27, 2026. Briggs said the resolution has near-universal House support across both parties and noted its solemn purpose to honor victims of the Holocaust.
"It's just in remembrance of the international and recognition of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, January 27, 2026," Briggs said. With no questions from committee members, Vice Chair Roberts called the roll and the committee recorded eight ayes; H.J.R. 0739 was sent to the committee calendar for further consideration.
