Former McKinney library manager disputes misconduct allegations in name‑clearing hearing

At a requested name‑clearing hearing, Olutosin Fathosa, who served as a library service manager until March, told the council he was not contesting the decision to end a probationary appointment but asked the record be corrected for allegations he called unsupported. Fathosa said the product referenced in his termination notice—libraryscheduler.com—was developed through his own company before his hire, paid for on his personal card, and tested by colleagues who received login invitations in February. "I formed Fato Group Lehi with the state of Texas on 04/29/2025… The product cited in the notice was built through that company and not for the city," he said.
Fathosa said he received no prior written warnings, improvement plans, or documented complaints during his probationary period and that the director had told him the termination decision was not about performance. He asked the council to correct or retract allegations of dishonesty, misuse of public resources, conflict of interest and unauthorized outside work, or to place his written response and supporting documents in his personnel file alongside the notice. The council noted the materials submitted would be part of the meeting record.
