Staff outlines 185 department-level objectives to implement McKinney's FY2027 strategic goals

Joe Mazzola introduced the presentation and said staff refined the goals following the February strategic session. "So in total, 185 department level objectives were established out of your fiscal year 27 strategic priorities," Luke Gajari said as he summarized how staff converted council priorities into measurable objectives.
Gajari described the vetting process: department drafts reviewed by the performance manager and assistant city managers, final review by the city manager, and application of SMART criteria (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-bound). Staff said the objectives will be included on the consent agenda as a resolution for council approval and that they plan annual reporting and a December review of the prior year’s progress.
