City Council appoints members to McKinney Development Committee
Summary
Council approved a slate of appointments to the McKinney Development Committee after staff outlined the committee makeup and the preferencing process; the Chamber of Commerce will appoint its seats next week.
Edith Ruiz, an accreditation and reporting specialist, told the council that the McKinney Development Committee includes two city council members, two Planning & Zoning Commission members, two Chamber of Commerce board appointees, two McKinney business owners and a mix of industry professionals and community members. "This committee is composed of 2 city council members 2 planning and zoning commission members, 2 members of the Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors, and 2 McKinney business owners," Ruiz said during the presentation.
Council used the preferencing process to select council and commission representatives. A motion to appoint Rick Franklin and Ernest Lynch as the two city council representatives passed by voice vote; Council then approved James Craig and Jesse Conrad as the Planning & Zoning Commission representatives. Later motions appointed John David Cross, Thad Helsley, George Fuller and Landon King as industry professionals and Riccardi, Franklin, Rose and Woodruff to the McKinney development community seats. Staff said the Chamber of Commerce will name its appointees at a meeting next week and forward them to the city.
