Reinbeck council removes property from urban renewal area and repeals old TIF division ordinance

The Reinbeck City Council on Feb. 2 approved Resolution #2026-04R removing a parcel from the Reinbeck Urban Renewal Area and adopted two ordinances affecting tax increment financing. Mayor Jamie Eiffler introduced Ordinance #2026-01OR, which deletes property from the city’s TIF district pursuant to Iowa Code §403.19; the council moved to suspend the usual two-meeting consideration rule and adopted the ordinance on a roll-call vote with all five members voting aye.
Councilmembers also introduced and adopted Ordinance #2026-02OR to repeal Ordinance No. 99-10-02 concerning the division of taxes levied on property in the urban renewal area. The minutes record unanimous roll-call votes for these actions; the council did not include ordinance text or parcel identifiers in the minutes.
