DA conference presents vacancies and asks committee to reconcile reversion numbers before vote

Crump reported roughly 41 vacancies across a statewide complement of about 1,360 full‑time positions and said 12 positions had been unfilled for more than a year; he said some grant positions would be abolished and salary‑equity funding in the governor's budget had been reduced.
Committee members requested reconciliation between the DA Conference's reversion figures and the numbers held by legislative finance staff; the chair asked Crump to meet with staff and return next week with reconciled numbers before the committee votes on the DA budget. Crump said collections from a newly authorized public‑safety fee had generated about $163,647 so far in participating counties and that the DA Conference would work with clerks and auditors to ensure accurate reporting of receipts and allowable uses.
