The board reviewed and voted to approve standing committee assignments for 2024–25. Committees named included Facilities (Joanne and another member), Finance (including Mr. Weir), Policy, Negotiations and the Wellness Council; members volunteered and the board confirmed assignments by motion and voice vote.
The board also created a new ad hoc tuition-agreement committee to gather information in advance of any negotiations; the chair and Joanne Powers were named to the ad hoc committee. Members discussed which standing committees remain needed (for example, the superintendent said the comprehensive planning ad hoc is no longer required) and reiterated that negotiations will only be pursued if the board chooses to do so.
The motion to approve the committee slate passed by voice vote; board members emphasized they would revisit assignments if needed.
