Council adopts 8.1 estimated rollback rate for millage advertising

City Manager (speaker 8) explained the state-required rollback calculation and the city's procedural need to advertise an estimated rate. He said that the working estimate for the rollback is 8.1 and that staff must forward a resolution to the county tax commissioner's office for advertising.
"...we had to create that and do that rollback. Ours is 8.2... I need you to consider passing this resolution so I can forward this to the county tax commissioner's office that we now have a resolution saying that we estimate a rollback to be 8.1," the City Manager said.
Council moved and adopted the resolution (25-025) as a procedural step; staff noted the final millage rate will not be adopted until the formal hearings later in the summer (likely August), and the advertised estimate could change when final values are available from the county.
