Sarah Warren, owner of the property at 46 Towne Way, told the commission she intends to replace an aging deck and move the retractable stairs 7 feet 6 inches to a new west-facing location. Jen (staff) confirmed there is no ground disturbance proposed and that the deck will be cantilevered and use existing piles that were reinforced in 2022.
"We are just proposing to, replace the existing deck and simply, the only change to the existing deck other than replacing the materials... is to move the stairs from the existing location 7 feet 6 inches to the new location," Warren said. Commissioners found the proposal straightforward, moved for and approved a Negative 2 determination, and asked the applicant to provide exact site dimensions and confirm property lines for the record and as-built.
The commission's approval was conditional on ensuring all work occurs within the applicant's property limits and confirming the supporting pile dimensions in site documentation.
