Geneseo board appoints new district clerk; oath administered

The Geneseo Central School District Board of Education approved the appointment of Alina (self-identified in the oath as Alina McEwen) as District Clerk and administered an oath of office; board members said she will begin official duties the following day.
The Geneseo Central School District Board of Education voted by consent to appoint Alina to the office of District Clerk and welcomed her at the July 21, 2025 meeting. The chair moved the appointment under personnel item 3.02 and the motion was seconded and approved without recorded opposition.
An oath of office was then read and recited: “So I, Alina McEwen, do solemnly swear that I will support the constitution of The United States Of America and constitution of the state of New York, and that I will faithfully discharge, according to the best of my ability, the duties of the Office of District Clerk to the Board of Education of the Geneseo Central School District, to which I now am assigned.” The chair congratulated the appointee and confirmed she will begin officially the next day and sign required documents.
