The Wickenburg Common Council voted on July 6 to continue the town’s Water and Wastewater Utility Assistance Program and allocate $15,000 for FY2027, using General Fund contingency funds. Finance Director Robert Martinez said the program has assisted 67 Wickenburg families to date and covers 50% of a monthly bill, up to $100, for up to six months; applicants must have household income at or below 50% AMI.
Councilmember Kristy Bedoian first moved to allow remaining funds to be used but not renew the program; that motion failed 2–3. A subsequent motion by Councilmember Margaret Nyberg to continue the program with the $15,000 allocation passed 3–2 (Yes: Nyberg, Rovey, Rubash; No: Mayor Bratcher, Bedoian).
