Council authorizes construction-phase services agreement for McKinney National Airport taxiway project

The McKinney City Council authorized the city manager to execute an agreement with Garber LLC for construction-phase services for Taxiway Alpha Phase 2 at McKinney National Airport.
Airport Director Ken Carley described the contract as a companion to a recently approved construction contract and said the services include construction administration, materials testing and survey work. Carley said the project budget is about $850,000 and that roughly $718,000 is grant-eligible through the Texas Department of Transportation. "This construction administration ... primarily using grant funding through TxDOT out of this, 850,000. I believe 700 and about 718,000 is is grant eligible," Carley told the council.
With no public hearing required and no questions from council, Councilman Jones moved approval and Mayor Pro Tem Feltus seconded; the motion carried by voice vote. The authorization allows the city manager to finalize the construction-phase services agreement and proceed with the administration of the project under the agreed grant terms.
