The Mansfield Conservation Commission on May 18 authorized Town Counsel to seek Select Board approval to initiate litigation and pursue injunctive relief to enforce the Town Wetlands Protection Bylaw and the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act for multiple properties where Enforcement Orders remain unresolved.
Planner Katelyn Gonyer reported that signed Memoranda of Understanding were provided by 130 Forbes Boulevard (May 5) and 120 Forbes Boulevard (May 6), but unsigned or late MOUs were received from other parties and no responses were received from representatives of 505 West Street or 493 West Street. Town Counsel advised the commission to pursue injunctive relief to enforce the bylaws and the commission voted unanimously to authorize Town Counsel to prepare and file necessary documents and take required actions. The motion passed 5–0 (mover Robert MacDonald; seconder Jonathan Hedlund).
