Veterans Services presents service dogs; certificates awarded to two program graduates

Veterans Services Director Maureen Adams presented a service dog from the Service Dog Project to veteran Matt Poore, who served as a Marine lance corporal from 2019 to 2024. Maureen Adams introduced Judy Falland as the program benefactor. Poore introduced his new dog Hershey and the minutes state he described how Hershey is already helping him.
K9 Warriors presented two certificates recognizing graduates of the emotional-support/service-dog program: one certificate to Matt Poore for Hershey and another to Tammy Robinson for her dog Ollie. The Board noted the presentation and recognized the benefactor; no formal vote or funding action related to the presentation was recorded in the minutes. The meeting record also shows Chair R. McKinley Elliott leaving at 10:35 a.m., whereupon Commissioner Teri Sue Freehling assumed the Vice‑Chair role and presided over the remainder of the meeting.
