Berrien County commissioners approve consent calendar including fuel-vendor and workers’ comp agreements

The Berrien County Board of Commissioners voted to approve the May 14 consent calendar after Commissioner Chokwe Pitchford moved “to include Resolutions #A2605216, #P2605238 and, #A2605240 from the Added Resolution(s) to the Consent Calendar, and to approve today’s Consent Calendar.” The roll call returned nine yeas and the motion carried.
The consent calendar covered a mixture of routine and program items: approval of bills and road payables; weekly requisitions and purchase order changes; acceptance of Community Corrections funding; a complement change for the Mobile CAD project; an application to PetSmart Charities to become an adoption partner; and an honorary resolution. Added to the calendar were a fuel‑vendor contract for the Road Department (A2605216), an agreement with Gallagher for the county’s workers‑compensation program (P2605238), and authorization to apply for Byrne SCIP funding for the Boys & Girls Club (A2605240). These items were approved without separate debate.
The vote follows standard practice to bundle routine and minor contract items for expedited approval. County staff will proceed with contract execution and application steps as authorized in the approved resolutions.
