Hearst Free Library to receive loanable telescope via IMLS program

The Hearst Free Library will soon offer a telescope for public checkout after Director Sam Walters said the library received confirmation from an Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) program. Walters reported the telescope came through an application submitted several months earlier.
Walters also reported the Friends of the Library fund the summer reading program, which is scheduled to begin at the end of June, and that he submitted a grant application to Town Pump to supplement funding. The board discussed calendar coordination but took no votes because a quorum was absent.
