Commission to place earmarked alcohol funds award to CCCS on agenda after staff recommendation

"Last year we gave 100% of our proceeds to them and it's my suggestion we do the same thing again this year," CEO Bill Everett said. Chairman Kevin Hart opened the floor for public comment; none was offered. The commission voted to place the item on a future agenda for formal consideration.
Commissioner Paul Smith disclosed his employment with CCCS before discussion. "I would just like to disclose, as I do anytime CCCS comes up as a topic, that I am employed by CCCS, including the Start Program," Commissioner Paul Smith said. The disclosure was recorded on the public record; commissioners did not discuss recusal during the work session.
The commission packet indicates staff will return the matter on a future agenda where the body may take formal action. No dollar amounts or formal award language were discussed at the session and none were decided at the April 28 meeting.
