Board ratifies financial report after hearing retro billing and RAN plans
Summary
Finance director Anita presented a January update showing a large retro billing (about $420,000), a significant accounts-receivable increase and payoff of a $350,000 note; trustees approved the finance report and Anita said the new rate should sustain monthly operations.

Anita, the district’s finance lead, walked trustees through the January financials and explained that the successful state rate action produced both a $420,000 retroactive billing and an increase in the district’s prospective daily rate. She said the accounts-receivable spike reflects those billings and reported that the district paid off a prior note of about $350,000; the board discussed a proposed RAN (tax anticipation note) of roughly $550,000 to cover near-term capital needs.
Board members asked about staffing thresholds and hiring triggers; administrators said they would need to hire another teacher if enrollment rose by roughly eight students (class cap considerations). After discussion, a trustee moved to accept the financial report and the motion was seconded; the board ratified the financial report for the period shown.
