Officials say repeated parking in River Park fire lane risks older residents; police issued tickets

"It's a serious issue. Because I mean, we have some older folks that live up that way and the chief will tell you they're up there doing medical calls all the time. You couldn't get near their houses," the Chair said. Members said the village has signs, painted curbs and blinking lights, but said they may need additional enforcement and a meeting with school leadership (Dr. Kaye) to prevent repeat violations.
Trustees discussed strategies including posting an officer for recurring events and stepping up ticketing. No formal new enforcement policy was adopted at the meeting.
