Village declares 2015 Spartan engine surplus as new truck is in service

The Green Island Village Board moved to declare the 2015 International Spartan engine surplus. Fire Chief told the board the truck "served us well" but is hard to maneuver on local streets; the department now has a new truck obtained through a grant and selling the old engine could offset some replacement costs.
"It's a good truck. It served as well. It's just a little difficult to get around the streets," the Fire Chief said. A trustee moved to declare the engine surplus, members voted in favor and the motion carried.
