Board approves acknowledgement of $500,000 PFA Clean Water loan application for Reading wastewater

Stantec engineer Joe Palen told the board that Nobles County is pursuing multiple funding paths to build a compliant wastewater treatment system for Reading; as part of the financing model the county will apply to the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority Clean Water Revolving Loan Fund for an estimated $500,000. The board adopted Resolution 202607 acknowledging and approving that application (moved by Bob Paplow; seconded by Justin Ahlers).
Palen and county staff cautioned that the current funding model has several variables and that the county hopes for grant and/or loan awards through the PFA program. The resolution records the board's formal authorization to proceed with the PFA application; specific award amounts and loan terms remain to be determined.
