The Nobles County Board on Jan. 28 voted 4–1 to continue with the current plan and designs for the Reading Sanitary Sewer Service District. The motion carried with commissioners Robert S. Demuth, Gene Metz, Chris Dybevick and Bob Paplow voting in favor and Commissioner Justin Ahlers opposed.
According to the meeting record, the design includes facilities and piping to move material through a series of devices. Commissioners noted that the sewer system will require future administrative services and that ordinances will be needed to establish operating rules. No ordinance text was adopted at the session; the board authorized continuation of the existing design work and preparatory steps toward adopting rules and administrative processes.
