The Huachuca City Council on Jan. 8 authorized repairs to the town’s Caterpillar D6 dozer/tractor in the approximate amount of $47,282.63 after staff reported wear discovered during routine maintenance.
Manager Suzanne Harvey introduced the item and Michael Fox told the council that the repairs "are needed to keep the machine running," according to the meeting minutes. Council discussed the request and then approved the expenditure on a motion by Johann Wallace, seconded by Christy Hirshberg. The motion passed unanimously.
The repair item was presented as necessary to maintain the equipment’s operability; no alternative vendors or warranty information was discussed in the minutes. The council did not designate a separate funding source during the meeting; the item was approved as presented.
