Contractor Dave reported that the newly commissioned wastewater treatment plant is producing effluent well below permit limits but staff have observed grease traveling through the system and into effluent and strainers. "It's not very expensive, $3,780," Dave said of the recommended energy-dissipation plate, and he recommended additional, larger baskets and strainers to allow continuous operation during cleaning.
Council discussed recent operational challenges, including younger microbiology in the new plant startup and grease inflows from restaurants and lodging. Council approved the change order for the dissipation plate and asked staff to track additional small components and operational tweaks as part of normal project close-out and operations.
