Astor Library Friends report $9,839 on hand and secured donations for a 'library of things' garden program

Innes told the board the Friends had "$9,839.42 divided between our checking, savings account, and newly opened CD at TLC Credit Union," and that a $500 grant from Random House/American Library Association was included in that total. She said City Lumber's owner volunteered to donate garden tools for a planned 'library of things' tool-lending program, which effectively doubled funds available for that project.
The Friends also reported work on an 'alpha used bookstore' under development and on restructuring bylaws, and said they were developing an online mailing list at www.asterlibraryfriends.org. The board accepted the report; no formal action beyond receiving the update was taken.
