James Bausch, a REMAX broker representing the owners, described efforts to clean up the property, remove squatters and address site issues since inheriting the parcel. He said the owners are not trying to profit excessively and are working to make the property buildable. "They're not looking to make a bunch of money on this," Bausch said.
Staff and commissioners discussed technical matters including shared wells, septic exclusions because the parcel sits in the sewer district, and required written documentation for well agreements; the health department indicated that a shared‑well arrangement can be acceptable with a formal agreement. The commission approved the preliminary plan and directed the applicant to return for final plat after meeting conditions cited by staff.
