"We built a house, and, you know, all of our neighbors to the north are residential," Whitehead said, explaining his request for rezoning to resolve the inconsistency. Commissioners discussed site conditions including wetlands, septic options (no public sewer is available on that side of the lake) and the need for any variance to be resolved prior to final plat.
Members acknowledged neighborhood concerns about parcel size and character. The commission approved the preliminary plan but noted that a variance request and any shared‑well agreement would need health‑department signoff before the final plat is recorded. Staff said the applicant can return with final materials once conditions are satisfied.
