Selectmen approve multiple tax abatements and a $359.60 refund for a 2024 assessment error

The board also addressed a 2024 assessment error in which a property was mistakenly entered entirely as building, creating a $28,000 overvalue; the board approved an abatement that will result in a $359.60 refund to the property owner.
Additionally, the board approved abatements totaling $654.85 for lots assessed to the wrong person and a supplemental tax form for $243.85. All motions related to abatements and supplements passed unanimously. The board noted that state rules limit abatement to three years and that property owners may pursue further review if they disagree with assessor decisions.
