District flags masonry, ventilation and clock-system work; lead testing underway

On masonry issues at the middle school, staff explained that older exterior walls were built as solid brick (a 'header course') and lack a cavity, which means remediation requires replacing masonry rather than a simple resurfacing. The administration said some areas have been tested for lead and that the architect is working to define scope and cost for comprehensive remediation.
On a smaller operational issue, the district said many clocks are not on a central system; head custodians were instructed to check battery-operated clocks and facilities staff will update systems as needed.
