Kingman Fire Department honored by ACTEAZ for training partnership with WAVE JTED

The Kingman Fire Department was recognized as Arizona ACTEAZ Outstanding Business and Industry Professional of the Year for its sustained partnership with the WAVE JTED Fire Academy. The chief told the council the program has graduated students who have gone on to work in Kingman and throughout the region; last year's graduating class numbered 16 with follow-on national certification for the cohort.
The chief noted the city has hired nine academy graduates as full-time employees and that the program also places graduates in other states. Council members praised the department's training and recruitment work. "We're proud of our fire department," Mayor Watkins said, congratulating staff and instructors.
