Council unanimously adopts updated Harbor Management Plan

Harbor Master Steve Land and Waterfront Commission chair David Cain presented a revised Harbor Management Plan intended to guide harbor use, public access, and future investments. Land described the plan as a technical but vital guiding document that will be reviewed and updated periodically. "The harbor management plan is a document that, all harbors must have to basically plan the future for the harbor," the harbor master said.
Councilors praised the outreach and the plan's dovetailing with other city master plans; the council approved the plan by voice vote. Waterfront commissioners and staff said the plan will be a living document with periodic updates and implementation goals.
