The Newport City Council approved an entertainment license for Vanderbilt Opco LLC at 41 Mary Street, allowing indoor entertainment daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and limited outdoor terrace hours on specified evenings.
Applicant representative Matt Lyons said the proposal codified current practices at the site and that there were no outstanding objections; the council closed the public hearing and voted to approve the license. "We're not looking to expand what is already there," Lyons said, explaining the application is intended to match existing operations and management. The vote carried on a voice vote.
