Commissioners adopt salary resolution for elected officials; amendment to raise commissioners' pay fails

The Campbell County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution No. 3135-2026, which sets the salaries of county elected officials from Jan. 1, 2027, to Dec. 31, 2030. The resolution lists the County Assessor, County Clerk, Clerk of the District Court, County Sheriff and County Treasurer at $135,000; the County & Prosecuting Attorney at $145,000; County Commissioners at $37,500; and County Coroner at $115,000.
Commissioner Scott Clem moved to adopt the resolution and Commissioner Jerry Means seconded. Commissioner Jim Ford proposed an amendment to increase the County Commissioner salary to $50,625. Commissioners Clem and Ford voted Aye on the amendment; Commissioners Jordan, Means and McCreery voted No and the amendment failed. The board then voted to approve the original resolution; the meeting record states that the motion carried with all voting Aye on the final resolution.
