Teton County and Jackson approve 6% pay increase in Energy Conservation Works budget

Teton County Commissioners and the Jackson Town Council voted May 12 to approve a revision to the Energy Conservation Works (ECW) budget that raises compensation by 6%, up from the 4.5% increase originally presented by ECW.
On the County side, Commissioner Len Carlman moved and Commissioner Luther Propst seconded a motion to adopt the 6% increase; the County vote was recorded as unanimous and the motion carried. On the Town side, Councilman Jonathan Schechter moved and Councilman Alyson Spery seconded a matching motion; the Town vote was 4–1 in favor, with Mayor Arne Jorgensen recorded as opposed, and the motion passed.
The change was adopted during a special joint budget review of seven shared departments. ECW was listed among the items to be reviewed alongside Fire/EMS, Parks & Recreation, START, Long Range Planning, Transportation and other joint services. The transcript notes ECW had originally presented a 4.5% compensation proposal; both bodies approved increasing that to 6% in their respective motions.
