Mayor Alex Uhl nominated Councilor Miltier as Mayor Pro Tempore; Miltier accepted and the council approved the appointment by unanimous voice vote after a motion by Councilor Trujillo and second by Councilor Banks. Councilor Miltier also volunteered to serve as the Town's representative to the Northwest New Mexico Council of Governments (NMCOG) with Councilor Trujillo as alternate; that appointment was approved by motion from Councilor Banks and second from Councilor Bounds.
On audits, Mayor Uhl said the FY2024 audit questions should be answered next week. For FY2025, three firms responded to the RFQ; councilors discussed whether to select from those responses or seek additional quotes and requested cost/hours estimates from firms. Mayor Uhl relayed that Representative Mark Duncan informed him the state is pulling back funding but would assist in expediting projects.
