Chairman Rod Cleveland said the agenda listing followed standard public‑funds approval procedures and was not intended to embarrass Ms. Taylor or single out the Sheriff's Office, stating: "There was absolutely no intent to embarrass anyone or draw unnecessary attention to the settlement." Clerk's Notes recorded amendments to the account numbers used to fund the payments so they reflect the correct Sheriff's Service Fee accounts as discussed in the meeting.
Commissioner Rusty Grissom moved to approve the settlement payments with amended accounts and the motion carried unanimously.
