The Sunnyvale Education Foundation presented the district with a $79,000 fall grant the board said will support field trips, assemblies and other student activities across all 10 schools. A Foundation representative (speaker 15) told the board the check "was in the amount of $79,000" and that the Foundation has also committed $10,000 toward a library refresh and plans midyear special-project grants to push learning beyond the classroom.
The Foundation representative said the group has raised more than $8,000 so far toward a separate campaign with a $20,000 goal to support families in need; the board and district staff praised the Foundation’s rapid turnaround to meet an immediate need and said the district will work with the Foundation on distribution priorities.
