Board members pressed staff for clearer public language and more explicit enrichment items. Several trustees urged that the public‑facing document avoid leading with the word “assessments,” because some parents interpret that to mean frequent standardized testing; instead they asked that assessment be framed as part of data‑informed instructional practice. Trustees also requested one additional signature strategy under Goal 2 (intervention/enrichment) and suggested restoring or rewording elements such as “imagination” and the phrasing around joy and compassion in the core values. The presenter agreed to revise the draft and circulate a new version ahead of the next check‑in.
