Mr. Reynolds, the district presenter for procurement, told the board that eight vendors submitted responsive bids for IFB26-0003 and staff recommends awarding contracts to six vendors to spread line-item pricing and reduce costs.
"The total annual award is $614,187.43," Mr. Reynolds said. He told the board the recommended awards would save the district "precisely $68,922.59" compared with the district's 2021 bid while meeting operational needs. Reynolds said the recommended contract would be for one year with four additional one-year extensions and would appear on the August consent agenda for board consideration.
Board members asked about vendors and product lines; one member noted SC Johnson products were used in some buildings and expressed a desire to support long-standing local suppliers. Staff confirmed the evaluation compared pricing by item and that spreading awards across multiple vendors allowed for better overall cost and supply resilience.
The board did not take a formal vote during the information presentation; Mr. Reynolds said the item will be included in the consent agenda for the August business meeting.
