Road Department Director Mark Heyliger asked the committee to authorize purchasing sign blanks from Dornbos Sign Company because Dornbos offered a turnaround time half that of the lowest bidder. Heyliger said the difference in price between the lowest bidder and Dornbos was $537.30.
Commissioner Teri Freehling moved, and Commissioner Rayonte Bell supported, authorizing the Road Department to purchase the sign blanks from Dornbos for $24,171.80. The committee also directed that future sign bid documents include a 15-day turnaround requirement to speed future deliveries.
