The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services presented Berrien County Public Health Officer Guy Miller with a Cycle 8 Accreditation certificate at the county's May 7 Board of Commissioners meeting. Laura de la Rambelje of MDHHS told the board the accreditation process takes about three years and commended the county health department for multiple programs and services.
MDHHS specifically noted the department's compliance with its statutory powers and duties, its range of health education programs, the county's unique "Son To A Father" program, the Food Program Inspection staff's work with businesses and the public, the Vision Team's school partnerships, and the detailed information provided in the health department's annual report. Guy Miller accepted the certificate on behalf of Berrien County Public Health.
