The Anaconda‑Deer Lodge County Airport Advisory Board voted to approve changes to the Bowman Field Capital Improvement Plan for 2027–2032 and to submit the document to the Federal Aviation Administration by June 15, 2026. Vice‑Chair Laura Mancevich moved to approve the CIP changes; Donni Cochran seconded and the motion passed 3–0.
Consultant Mathew Wilder of Robert Peccia & Associates presented the draft plan and said that when the planned aerial survey is completed, "all basic maintenance on the property of the airport will need to be current and complete." The board reviewed and finalized the schedule of projects: 2027 — snow removal equipment (carried over), 2028 — land acquisition (Shellenbarger property), 2029 — airfield pavement maintenance, 2030 — construction of a six‑bay T‑hangar, 2031 — reconstruction of the airfield lighting system and NAVAIDs, and 2032 — apron expansion. A proposed replacement tractor, listed at $450,000, was removed from the CIP because members judged it impractical at this time.
Board action was limited to approving the CIP changes and forwarding the plan to the FAA; no separate funding approvals or contract awards were made at the meeting. The board recorded a 3–0 vote to send the CIP to the FAA for review.
