The Select Board approved a contract with Enterprise Electric Inc. in an amount not to exceed $38,142 for directional boring on Jordan Pond Road. S5 presented the item and asked the contractor and staff to notify board members of the timing so they could observe; S2 said, "Just let us know when it's happening so I can be there." The chair and staff described the approach as the least invasive method to preserve the stone carriage-road bridge.
Staff explained the boring operation will start downslope of the bridge crest and bore under the carriage road to curve back toward the center line of Jordan Pond Road, avoiding footings. Geophysical work had been done to reduce risk of encountering ledge and staff said they were as confident as possible pending final subsurface conditions. The board approved the contract by voice vote.
