At the Aug. 13 meeting, the Hinckley‑Big Rock Board voted unanimously to adopt the 2025–2027 School Improvement Plan.
Administrators explained the elementary school (HBRES) was designated for targeted support after students with identified learning disabilities did not meet growth targets; that designation triggers a four‑year school improvement plan with state funding. The administration proposed using funds for targeted professional development, intervention materials and stipends to support teacher teams mapping and reviewing curriculum.
The motion to approve the School Improvement Plan was made by Abigail Barrett and seconded by Tim Badal; the measure passed 6‑0. Board members framed the plan as an opportunity to align curriculum and interventions to improve measurable student growth.
Superintendents and staff will use the grant period to evaluate curricular areas and report back to the board on progress as teams complete mapping and data reviews.
