The Crown Point Board of Zoning Appeals voted to approve a variance for a replacement accessory structure at 909 Pratt St, part of the Living Stones Church site work. Planning consultant Greg Lorig told the board the existing garage is 1,998 square feet and 20 feet tall, and the petitioner proposes a garage of 1,974 square feet and "22 feet in height." Planning Administrator Josh Watson said the petition seeks relief from the ordinance limits of 900 sq ft and 16 ft in height and that "all notices have been properly sent out by Certified Mail and the notice has been published in the newspaper." No members of the public called in opposition or support.
Board member Dan Rohaley asked whether plumbing would be installed; Lorig said no. The board adopted the Findings of Fact and approved the petition on a roll-call vote with President Nick Nochevich, Dan Rohaley, John Marshall and Dick Sauerman voting yes. The transcript lists the petition as 26-05; later in the meeting a different item was also labeled 26-05 (Lucky Quick Run special-use). The board's action on 909 Pratt St was a formal approval recorded during the May 26 meeting.
