Smiley described a narrow build window (Aug. 1'Nov. 15) driven by wildlife-season restrictions and said volunteers and GCAT crews will supplement contractor work.
On a related transportation item, staff presented a task order with Horrocks Engineering for a Spanish Valley Drive corridor traffic analysis not to exceed $20,000. Commissioners debated expanding the geographic scope to capture cumulative development pressures and considered possible use of restricted funds to defray costs. The commission authorized the administrator to execute the task order under the county's on-call engineering services contract (motion passed with one opposed), with scope increases to return to the commission if additional funds are required.
