Commission approves wood enclosure for propane tanks at 35 Water Street

Steve Carlson, a representative for the property, told the commission the tanks were placed where a 275-gallon oil tank had been removed and that the new enclosure would be tucked behind the stairs and finished in wood to match the siding. "But, basically, I have no problem," Carlson said when describing the proposed shielding and color. Commissioners requested the applicant provide documentation that the enclosure would be wood; the chair said that stipulation would be added to the file.
The motion to approve was made and seconded and passed by roll call. The commission noted removal of the old oil tank was part of the original application and that the new enclosure should be built in cedar or pressure-treated wood, with a service door for access. Because the material and method were added to the application record at the hearing, the commission recorded the COA as approved.
