Voices Against Violence director tells commissioners the agency helped more than 1,000 people

Joseph Simonson, director of Voices Against Violence, said the nonprofit provided assistance to over 1,000 individuals who were victims of violence in the last year and has continued outreach in schools on bullying. "They have been able to help over 1,000 individuals who are victims of violence," Simonson said, describing the organization's scale of service.
Simonson said the offices are relocating to a better location and that some staff reductions have occurred; he told the commissioners the changes have not reduced the agency’s ability to serve people in Jerome County. The Board received the update as part of the nonprofit budget-request agenda items and did not take a separate vote on additional funding during the June 8 meeting.
